Collapse effect at rear surface of concrete targets under internal explosion of shelled charge

  To evaluate the damage ability of conventional warhead to buried hardened targets, based on dimensional analysis theory, the dimensionless relations between the critical collapse parameters and parameters of charge structure, shell structure and concrete target structure were obtained.Six internal explosion tests with different shell structures were performed, and critical collapse charge amount of different shell structure conditions were acquired.The results indicate that, as the residual thickness of concrete target and shell structural parameters were invariant, the collapse damage extent of concrete targets became more serious with the increase of length-to-diameter of charge.And, the length-to-diameter of critical collapse charge increased with the increase of the thickness of shell-to-diameter of charge and the head length of shell-to-diameter of charge.
