Research on dynamic test method of advanced composite armor
A typical composite armor consists of a layer of material made of fiber laminates, ceramics, rubber,metals, and the like.The most common design variables in composite armor design usually include the choice of materials, the order and thickness of each layer of material.This article has designed a typical ceramic composite armor structure.A one-dimensional Hopkinson pressure bar experimental device was used to generate stress waves in ceramic composite armor structures.Strain gauges were used to measure the reflected and transmitted waves at the interfaces between ceramic and metal backplates.As a result, it was found that the intensity of the stress wave passing through the composite armored is greatly reduced, and the increase of the energy absorbing layer can improve the armors resistance to projectile.
