Occupant lower leg injury assessment under blast loading
Based on the LS-DYNA software and the Hybrid Ⅲ dummy model, this paper simulates the safety of the occupants lower leg under the explosive shock loading.This paper analyzes the deformation of the cabin structure and the force of the lower limbs.The objective of the numerical investigations is to examine the influence of the sitting posture on the occupant injury assessment.The Yoganandan index may fail to evaluate the safety of the lower leg when the lower leg and the thigh are not kept perpendicular.It has been found that the TI (tibia index) injury index is more accurate than the Yoganandan index for lower leg injury assessment in blast loading environment.
