Multiple stations passive optoelectronic range-finding system
The localization task of non-cooperative moving objects (targets) is a very significant technical problem, which has several military and security applications. In praxis, passive and active localization systems are being used. Our team has been carrying out research and development of the passive optoelectronic range-finding system (POERFS) for 15 years. In the previous years we published results concerning the single station POERFS.In this paper we present, for the first time, our results concerning the multiple stations POERFS.We introduce the structure of the system, its operational modes and the principle of the targets position measuring. We illustrate by an example the usual accuracy of the targets position measuring. In the conclusion we compare the qualities of POERFS and laser range finders (LRF).The POERFS have several advantages over LRFs.
