Novel Ionic Liquids with Flame Retardant Functionality and Used in Epoxy Resin
Ionic liquids (ILs) are known as the most promising solvents and catalysts in 2 1 st century due to their wide liquid range, high conductivity, negligible vapor pressure, low flammability and a wide electrochemical potential window1-2.In the last decade, ILs have been investigated as solvents for insoluble biomacromolecules3, lubricants4, plasticizers5, antistatic agents6, compatibilizers7, etc.for polymeric materials.Recent years, some researchers have found that some ILs can be used as flame retardant synergists8.But it is rare to use IL alone as a flame retardant for polmers in the currrent study. The reported ILs mostly are halogenated, and the efficient halogen-free ILs with flame-retardant function are barren9.
