Mechanism Study of Blowing-out Effect in Flame Retarding Epoxy Resins by Gas Trapping Systems
The pyrolysis unit and the gas trapping system for combustion are designed and builded successfully, which are used to distinguish and collect the pyrolysis products in different status during the thermal decomposition and combustion process.The gas trapping system is used to collect different status products during the UL-94 test.The EP/2.5 DOPO-POSS release more aromatic product in the liquid product and solid floater, which are hard to be ignited by the flame, during the combustion than that of pure EP and EP/10 DOPO-POSS.These nonflammable solid floater (solid particles) and liquid product (liquid particles) jetted out from EP/2.5 DOPO-POSS are the key point for the blowing-out effect, which could push away the flame and difficult to be ignition by the flame.
