Ferric Chelate Containing DOPO and POSS: Synthesis and Apllication in Flame Retardant Epoxy Resin
In order to improve the flame retardancy and mechanical properties of epoxy resin.A ferric chelate (Fe-PmD2OH) consisting DOPO and polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane (POSS) was synthesized.Compared to pure EP, the char yield of Fe-PmD2OH/EP composite was significantly improved.The LOI value of Fe-PmD2OH/EP also increased from 19.5% to 33.5%.SEM characterization proved that Fe-PmD2OH can promote the formation of a stable compact layer to hinder the penetrating of oxygen and heat.
