Effects Of Carbon Nanotubes on the Thermal Stability and Flame Retardancy of Intumescent Flame-Retarded Polyamide Materials
Flame retardant mixtures of Multi-Walled Carbon Nanotubes (MWCNTs) and intumescent flame retardant (IFR) coating were applied on polyamide 6, 6 (PA66) fabrics to explore whether MWCNTs always acted as a good synergist on the thermal stability and flame resistance of IFR system.Flame retardant properties and thermal degradation were characterized by some measurements. Results showed that the introduction of MWCNTs can improve the flame retardancy of PA 66 fabric in terms of the amount of heat release from Cone calorimeter (CCT) analysis.
