Flame Retardancy of Fire-Resistant Electric Cables with Ceramifying Silicone Rubber Insulation
In an attempt to develop a fire-resistant electric cable with improved flame retardancy, ceramifying silicone rubber composite(CSR) was prepared using a two-roll mill, and fire-resistant electric cables with CSR insulation ware prepared with different fillers.The flame retardancy, smoke toxicity, and circuit integrity of the cables were investigated.The test results show that the cable with CSR insulation and glass cord fillers possess both excellent low smoke low toxic flame retardancy and circuit integrity properties.
