Coal/Layered Double Hydroxides Nano-Composites: The Nano Fibric Dispersion of LDH in Coal and Flame Retardancy for Ethylene Vinyl Acetate
Coal/layered double hydroxides nano-composites (NCLCs) were synthesized by an in-situ co-precipitation method, aimed to get a novel fire retardant for Ethylene Vinyl Acetate(EVA).SEM and EDX analysis were used to characterize the nano-composites.The flame retardancy of NCLCs for EVA was also evaluated by using the indexes such as the heat release rate, the residue amount, and the limiting oxygen index. The results show that nano-fibric LDH sheets covered surface were found in NCLCs.And the nano-composites have higher fire retardants efficiency and smoke suppressing properties for EVA.The fire retardant level increase with the increase of loading amount of NCLCs, and the synergy fire retarding effect lies in LDHs with coal. And the nano-composites have significant strengthening and toughening impact for EVA.
