Effect of APP-TiO2 on Flame Retardancy and Thermal Stability in EVA/Al(OH)3 Composites
Ammonium polyphosphate with the TiO2 shell (APP-TiO2) was incorporated with aluminum hydroxide(ATH) in the flame retarded ethylene-vinyl acetate(EVA) composites.The data show that APP-TiO2 improves the performances of limiting oxygen index(LOI) and UL-94 vertical burning rating with respect to the commercial APP used.Furthermore, the heat release rate(HRR) and total smoke release(TSR) values of the composites with APP-TiO2 are dramatically reduced.
