Preparing Intumescent Flame Retardant Extruded Polystyrene Heat Retaining Sheets with Expandable Graphite
Novel flame retardant polystyrene (PS) heat retaining sheets were prepared by extrusion-supercntical carbon dioxide foaming method with expandable graphite (EG), red phosphorus and tripropylene isocyanurate.The structures of the foamswere observed by scanning electron microscope, and the morpology was investigated by infrared spectrometer and thermogravimetric analysis.Results showed that EG not only constitute the intumescent flame retardant system, but also helps decreasing the scale of the bubbles and enhancing the heat isolation properties.
