Citizen Science: The World and China

摘要：

　　The past decades witnessed the dynamic development of citizen science globally with the emergence of three major citizen science associations, i.e.the U.S.Citizen Science Association, the European Citizen Science Association, and the Citizen Science Network Australia, which reflects the current trends of citizen science growth.This article traces back the origin of citizen science and discusses its contribution to scientific research, science education and science in policy.Then the trends of development in major economies from three perspectives, including practice, policy, publications are reviewed.The three aspects demonstrate that citizen science develop in dual tacks of both bottom-up and top-down.With the momentum of global citizen science, this article focuses on the case in China.This paper introduces the relevant new practice and its effect and the difference between the world and China.The paper argues that Citizen Science in China is upgrading and it gradually turns into a vibrant ingredient in science culture.
