Discourse Construction of PX Risk:Public Risk Perception on Weibo and Zhihu
Since 2007, the PX (p-xylene) project has triggered a series of mass incidents across China, triggering a constant risk controversy.These disputes are directly related with the public scientific cognition of PX risk, and social media is the main space of public discourse expression.Therefore, the public discourse on social media (Sina Weibo and Zhihu community)was chosen to investigate the risk perception and attitude of anti-PX public from seven dimensions by referring to James Paul Gees discourse analysis method.On this basis, this paper points out the role that public discourse plays in the construction of PXs high-risk image, as well as the the role of social media in promoting publics anti-PX discourse and actions, and the deep reasons for the publics risk construction of PX was revealed.
