Longitudinal Tensile Mechanical Properties of CFRP/steel strand Hybrid Composites
We mix stainless steel strands on conventional CFRP composites in order to improve mechanical and functional properties of CFRP sheets.The unidirectional CFRP/S hybrid composites are made of CFRP and steel strands in the present work.The mechanical properties including the longitudinal tensile strength, stretch modulus, Poissons ratio and fracture strain are tested with different mixing ratios by experiments.Based on the combination of theoretical deduction and experimental data, the calculation formula of longitudinal tensile mechanical properties of CFRP/S hybrid composites was deduced.Finally, the correctness of the formula is verified by finite element analysis.
