EFFECT OF ALUMINUM ON STRUCTURE AND CHLORIDE ADSORPTION CAPACITY OF C-(A)-S-H
In this paper, a series of hydrated calcium silicates with verious induced Aluminum (C-(A)-S-H) were prepared artificially by chemical precipitation method. The chloride ions adsorption capacity of C-(A)-S-H were determined through immersion exposure in chloride solution with pH value of 12, while the structures of C-(A)-S-H with various aluminum content and Al/Si ratio were characterized by Fourier Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR).The results show that the Al/Si ratio affects the degree of polymerization and structure of C-(A)-S-H, and affects the adsorption capacity of chloride ions as while. With the increase of Al/Si ratio from 0 to 0.6, the degree of polymerization of SiO44-increases, the average chain length increases and the structure of C-(A)-S-H becomes more dense. At the same time, porosity, specific surface area of hydrated gel and amount of adsorbed chloride ions decrease with Al/Si ratio. However, the increase trend becomes mild in the range of Al/Si ratio from 0.4 to 0.6.
