Explaining the determinants of the intention to adopt public e-services
Public e-services are widely used by increasingly more countries. However, there is still a low level of the citizens intention to use public e-services.On the basis of trust theory and social influence theory, this study empirically investigates antecedents of citizens intention to adopt public e-services, i.e., citizens trust in public e-services, public administration recommendations and demographic factors. We further employ three statistical models, i.e., multiple linear regression, radial-basis function-SVM model and neural network, to predict citizens intention to adopt public e-services.The research model was empirically tested on the data collected from 326 citizens in China. The results indicate that public administration recommendation, trust in public e-services and public e-services experience have strong and positive effects on intention to adopt public e-services.Furthermore, the radial-basis function-SVM model has a better performance than the multiple linear regression model and the neural network model in predicting the intention to adopt public e-services.Finally, theoretical and practical implications of these findings are discussed.
