Non-Isothermal Crystallization Kinetics of Novel PET/QE Composites

  Novel poly (ethylene terephthalate)/clay composites were prepared by melt processing using novel natural clay Quantum Energy(R)(QE) powder as the modifier, and the non-isothermal crystallization kinetics of PET/QE composites were studied using DSC and WAXD.The results reveal that: QE powder exhibits an excellent performance as nucleating agents and elevates the crystallization rate of PET, decreases the activation energy with the increasing amount as well.It also can be assumed that the dispersion of QE in PET matrix possibly affects the interlayer spacing of QE and the nucleation effect during the crystallization process.
