Fabrication of Fiber-Based Woven Triboelectric Nanogenerators and Study on Influential Factors for Output Performance

Fiber-based triboelectric nanogenerators have attracted increasing attention by virtue of its small size, high flexibility, sensitivity and promising applications. It can be woven or knitted into wearable, comfortable and breathable fabrics to harvest human body energy. However, there are few researches on the parameters of energy-harvesting woven fabrics made from fiber based triboelectric nanogenerators. Here in this paper, the properties of PU and PTFE threads and their corresponding fabrics are presented, and the impact of spatial density of warp and weft and different woven structures on electrical outputs are also investigated. The results show that the open-circuit voltage (VOC) increases with the increase of warp and weft density.Better performance is obtained from woven TENG with Plain and twill structures compared with stain structure. However, no obvious change has been found between woven TENGs of warp-faced and filling-faced twill or stain.
