Using Different Mordanting Methods for Tencel Fabric Dyeing with Pomegranate Peel Extracted Dye

　　Natural dyeing is a technique to dye the textile fabrics from the natural sources like plants.In this study dyeing of tencel fabric with punica granatum peel extracted dye has been examined with the effect of different mordanting methods and different chemicals.The mordanting methods are pre-mordanting, simultaneous mordanting and post-mordanting.Dyed tencel fabric analyze color efficiency, color coordinates on CIELab and color fastness to washing, light, rubbing and perspiration.Solvent extraction method is utilized for the extraction of natural dye.Copper sulfate and stannous chloride are consumed as a mordanting agent.The results reveled that dyeing tencel without mordants has good color fastness properties i.e.washing (4),light (4), dry and wet rubbing (4) and perspiration (4), but exhibit poor color efficiency (1.6).Moreover, the mordants have improved the color efficiency with stannous chloride (from 1.6 to6) and copper sulfate (4).They also enhanced the color fastneas properties on pre-mordanting method.Thus pre-mordanting method has good results in all mordanting methods with all chemicals.
