Variable stiffness MR device for structural vibration suppression under earthquake event:Nonlinear modeling and semi-active control
Magneto-rheological(MR)materials and their devices have been rapidly developed and have attracted a good deal of attention for their potentials in vibration control.Among them,a highly adaptive variable stiffness rotary damper based on MR fluid(MRF)was designed,fabricated and tested for real-time structural adaptive control against different types of earthquakes.
