Fatigue Performance Assessment of Hangers in a Rigid Tied Arch Bridge under Train Loads
Steel truss arch bridge is an important structural type for high-speed railway bridges with long spans,on which the fatigue assessment of rigid hangers under long-term train load is an important concern. In this paper, the Nanjing Dashengguan Bridge,a six-line railway steel arch bridge with three planes of truss arches and the largest span in the world,is taken as a case study.First, fatigue performance assessment of one shortest hanger is carried out based on dynamic strain monitoring data in the year 2015.Second,the fatigue damage distribution of full-field hangers is analyzed based on a calibrated finite element model. Finally,an engineering approach for fatigue performance assessment of full-field hangers is proposed based on annual train volume.Consequently, the fatigue damage of short hangers in the middle truss arch is the most remarkable, followed by the side truss arch on the downstream side(B-S railway)and then the side truss arch on the upstream side(B-W-C railway),which should be paid more attention in daily maintenance.
