Performance-based design methodology of tuned mass damper for mitigating seismic damage to nonstructural components
A comprehensive design procedure is proposed by means of stochastic vibration theory and response spectrum methods.Numerical examples are demonstrated for a wide variety of steel buildings with TMDs.The proposed method allows the design of TMDs in terms of mitigating damage to both structural and nonstructural components.
