Development and analysis of long stroke TMD for earthquake
To improve seismic resistance performance of high-rise buildings against long-period and long-duration ground motion,we developed long stroke Tuned Mass Damper.This TMD consists of 3 united pendulums,12 oil dampers and box shaped 400ton weight with around 4m stroke.In this paper,constitution of TMD is introduced and damping performance of high-rise building with TMD is shown by time history analysis and modal analysis.To evaluate rolling and torsional motion of TMD,3-dimentional analysis is conducted and confirmed that the effect of rolling and torsional motion is small and do not result in adverse effect to the response of high-rise building.
