Autonomous multirotor unmanned aerial vehicle for long range gird inspection
Automation of grid inspection is driven by the requirements of relative industries,and unmanned multirotor aerial vehicle holds great expectations.In this research,an autonomous UAV inspection system is designed for autonomous inspection of grid facilities.As well as the ability to patrol along the branches of the grid,the UAV also possesses the feature of accurate landing and autonomous charging on pre-installed ground stations,which,ensures a significantly sustainable working cycle.A robust navigation and path planning method have been developed to statistically minimize the error and risk of flight.The landing process is controlled by a visual locating algorithm between the UAV and the ground station.In addition,special mechanical structure is designed to conduct calibration before charging process.Insufficient flight endurance has always been the short slab of multirotor UAV in practical and industrial inspection applications,However,this research might hopefully remove the restriction in some way and promote automation of grid monitoring and management.
