Magnetic properties of reinforcement and corrosion products described by an upgraded monitoring apparatus
Reinforcement corrosion has been widely reported in the literature over last several years,because corrosion is an ubiquitous and costly problem for a variety of industries.Reinforcement corrosion leads to spalling of the cement and leave the steel reinforcement exposed to atmosphere,which may reduce the service life of RC structures.There are various kinds of corrosion monitoring apparatus based on different principles,However,only mass loss of reinforcement(rebar)can by adopted as the parameter to describe the behaviour of rebar corrosion.An upgraded new type monitoring apparatus has been adopted to characterize the whole rebar corrosion process starting from pit occurrence randomly.Moreover,this paper also summarize that signals received by this kind of new type monitoring apparatus are influenced by not only the rebar damage level but also corrosion product.
