Study on multiple accelerated oscillator damper system and parametric optimization
Since the invention of the TMD device a hundred years ago,it has become a very important technology in structural control.TMDs are effective in reducing the response of structures under harmonic or wind excitations.In order for TMDs to be effective to reduce structural vibration subjected to earthquake excitations,large mass ratios must be used,and TMDs are ineffective in reducing the maximum seismic response of tall buildings.To improve these shortcomings,a new accelerated oscillator damper(AOD)has been proposed recently.In this paper,a newly invented multiple accelerated oscillator damper(MAOD)is proposed and mechanical properties of the MAODs on single degree of freedom structure is studied.The results show that the SDOF structure with MAODs is equivalent to a generalized SDOF structure.Moreover,parametric optimization results is provided effectively to guide the design of structures with MAODs.
