Study of seismic improvement for girder bridge by polyurethane-modified polymer bearings
To improve the seismic capacity of existing bridge,a high-performance polyurethanemodified polymer(PUMP)bearing was invented.Four novel PUMP bearings ware designed and carried out on compression and shear performance experimental studies.The experimental study result shows the new isolation bearings have excellent vertical load capacity and favorable horizontal isolation performance,these properties make the new bearings become a potential selector to replace the pot bearings and improve the seismic performance.Two isolation layout schemes were studied and compared with the un-isolation bridge,the research result shows that the scheme which replacing fixed pot bearings with the PUMP bearings can significantly reduce the internal force of the pier while the superstructure displacement can maintain in an acceptable level.
