Study on non-stationary wind-induced effect of superlarge cooling tower based on field measurements
Recent measurements of super large cooling tower by our research Group indicate that the wind-induced response fluctuations exhibit a degree of nonstationarity echoing similar with observations reported at other large civil structures. It might cause estimation error of extreme response and a misunderstanding on wind-induced effect of super-large cooling tower if nonstationarity is neglected. In this study,wind-induced response signals of some typical super-large cooling tower in coastal region under real Reynolds number and turbulent flow were acquired through field measurement.Nonstationarity of signals were identified under different time intervals after noise reduction.Mean wind effect, pulsating wind effect, and extreme response of the super-large cooling tower were analyzed based on stationary analysis model and non-stationary analysis model. Finally, power spectral density(PSD)and evolutionary power spectral density(EPSD)of wind-induced response signal of super-large cooling tower were analyzed. The resonance spectral expression of wind-induced response at resonance excitation point which is applicable to super-large cooling towers was summarized.
