Real-time hybrid simulator for evaluating interactions with non-linear system model by using shaking table
This report is about the studies on the real-time hybrid simulation(RTHS)system to operate dynamic tests for the soil-structure interaction system by using the shaking-table.In this study,the soll-ground part is numerically modelled as the internally-computing subsystem in the RTHS system and the actual test specimen of the upper-structure building is placed on the shaking-table.Interactions between the numerical part(the soil-ground)and the experimental part(the upper-structure)is operated on-line through the RTHS tests.The RTHS tests can be generally executed by using the practical specimens only for uncertain parts and can evaluate the interactive behaviour of the specimen in the entire system.In contrary,this study makes the different approach of the RTHS tests,it is considered to provide non-linear parts or uncertainty parts with numerical models and the other parts with actual test specimens.According to the actual dynamic properties of the test specimen of the upper-structure part,appropriate model parameters of the soil-ground part are designed firstly as the linear model and then as the non-linear model.The ground conditions are supposed two kinds which are classified as the class 1 and the class 2 in the Japanese building code.Various case studies are carried out to estimate for the controllers reproducibility of dynamic interaction responses for the actual structural specimen and the ideal non-linear soilground foundation part in the RTHS tests.Through comparison between the RTHS tests and the pure simulations for the entire system,reproducibility of simulators of soil foundations are investigated and implementation of the control systems are discussed.
