Computer vision-based experimental study on dynamic properties of high-speed railway track structure

With the massive construction of high-speed railway system, the mileage increases dramatically in China. The speed of the high-speed trains has arrived 300 km/h,thus the safety and comfortableness of the high-speed trains has drawn great attention from scholars all over the world. The dynamic property of the track structure is an important factor reflecting its dynamic behavior and is widely used in the dynamic analysis of the high-speed railway system. This paper presents a full-scale laboratory model test of the high-speed railway track structure under simulated train load.A computer vision-based system is deployed to measure the dynamic displacements of two nearby sleepers and one steel rail.Spectral analysis is conducted on the measured data for frequency domain information.Comparison between sleeper and steel rail,as well as sleepers in both time and frequency domain is conducted to analyze the difference between the measured structure. The achieved results provide valuable reference for the experimental study on dynamic property of the high-speed railway system and present the robustness, accuracy and flexibility of the proposed vision-based system in the monitoring for railway system.
