Numerical analysis of vehicle impact factors of continuous beam bridges and on-site tests data survey
Moving load may induce the important impact effect for highway bridges. In this paper, the impact factor(IM)for the continuous beams bridges is investigated via the numerical computation based on FEM bridge modeling and the on-site tests data survey. The impact characteristics of a three-equal-span continuous beam under the influence of vehicle speed, vehicle mass, bridge fundamental frequency is numerically analyzed.By sorting out the measured and reported IM values of the continuous beams bridge in China in recent 20 years, the results show: When the IMs of the deformation respone at one section reach the extremum, the corresponding reciprocals of the adjacent frequency ratios are geometric sequences; The IM value regulated in the Chinese code is conservative for those bridges of high fundamental frequencies.
