Simulation and Verification of Human Fall Load
In this paper,a loading model for human falling is proposed to provide a mean to numerically study the floor vibration induced by the falling, which makes feasible to develop new algorithms for fall detection and sensor optimization through benchmark problems such as the one proposed by Madarshahians 1.The loading model divides the falling process into four stages: standing, falling, impact and resting. In the stage of falling, the floor reaction force is assumed to be parabolic.During the impact stage, the human vertical vibration model in the international standard ISO 5982-1981 2 is adopted to determine the force of the floor. The proposed model is validated using the acceleration time history data in UMAFALL database 3.
