Identifying nonlinear characteristics of model-free MR dampers in structures with partial response data
Magnetorheological damper(MR damper)have become an indispensable protection device for reducing structural vibration.Especially for unexpected earthquakes and multidimensional vibration,damper are used in the structures to absorb the unexpected seismic energy.However the dynamic performance of the MR damper is very complex,and has the characteristics of high nonlinear and unpredictability.The performance of MR damper is studied extensively by researchers.Some parameterized mathematical models are developed,but these models are simplified approximation model,cannot directly reflect the inverse dynamic characteristics of MR damper.Therefore,it is necessary to develop the identification of nonlinear characteristics of model-free MR damper based on measurement of structural dynamic response.In this paper,a two-step algorithm is proposed to identify the nonlinearities of model-free MR damper in structures using only partial measurements of structural dynamic responses.Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed algorithms are capable of identifying the nonlinear properties of structure with good accuracy.
