Shaking table test of pressurized fire sprinkler piping subsystems
Pipelines without aseismic bracings which are typically installed in buildings located in low to moderate seismic regions or exist in older constructions in active seismic zones suffered great damage in recent earthquakes.Although poor seismic performance of fire sprinkler systems including damage of the joints,sprinkler heads,supporting hangers,and bracing systems has been observed in the earthquake events occurred during the last two decades,limited research has been conducted on sprinkler piping systems under seismic loading.
