Study on Summer Microclimate and Comfort of Campus Green Space in Suzhou Area

  in order to evaluate the effect of different types of green space on the improvement of campus microclimate, especially on the comfort of human body, three representative campus green spaces (tree-shrub-lawn, tree-lawn, artificial lawn) and a hard square as a control point were selected in Soochow University.The air temperature and relative humidity were measured every one hour from 12 : 00, June 20 to 12 : 00, July 2 every day for continuously 12 days during June and July in 2017.The results indicate that in hot summer, various types of campus green space show certain effects of cooling and humidification.Among them, the cooling effect of tree-shrub-artificial lawn is the most significant.The results also show that all kinds of green space have improved to the human bodys thermal comfort to a certain extent, which can be ranked in an order of tree-shrub-artificial lawn> tree-artificial lawn > artificial lawn trend;from the perspective of different times of a day, tree-shrub-artificial lawn measurement point can significantly improve the human bodys thermal comfort during high temperature period than that early in the morning and late in the evening.As a whole, the campus green space has exerted certain effect on the thermal environment, where the spatial structure of vegetation significantly affect the cooling and humidification of green space.In the future, the campus green space planning deserves further attentions to the multi-level plant configuration and reasonable spatial layout.
