Study on Thermal Comfort of the Shaded Environment in Summer within Urban Outdoor Public Space in Hot Summer and Cold Winter Zone of China

  The shade plays an important role in improving the outdoor thermal comfort in hot summer and cold winter zone and improving the vitality of outdoor public spaces.This paper presents a thermal comfort survey in combination with questionnaire survey and micrometeorological measurement in the shaded space of an urban park and an urban square in Wuhan from July to August 2017.The Sky Factor View (SVF), the thermal sensation of visitors and the micrometeorological parameters were obtained in the course of thermal comfort survey.Physiological equivalent temperature (PET) was used as an objective evaluation index of thermal comfort,and thermal sensory vote (TSV) was used as a human thermal sensory evaluation index.By mathematical statistics method, this paper reveals the main micrometeorological factors that affect the outdoor thermal comfort and the influence law of different micrometeorological factors on outdoor thermal comfort in the shaded spaces, analyzes the correlation between SVF and thermal sensation under different heat stress conditions and the influence of SVF on thermal sensation.Whats more, this paper determines the neutral temperature and the thermal comfort range in summer of the shaded environments within the outdoor public space.The results show that: ①Air temperature is the main microclimatic factor affecting TSV in the morning and midday, and the average radiation temperature and relative humidity are the main microclimatic factors affecting TSV in the afternoon.While, at different times, the mean radiant temperature is the main microclimatic factor of PET, followed by the air temperature, and the relative humidity has the smallest influence on PET.②At different times, the correlation between PET and SVF is higher than that of TSV.When the SVF is larger, PET can more effectively reflect the average thermal sensation of the human body.At the same time, when the SVF is too high or too low, people are less sensitivity to heat.③the neutral PET of shaded environment of outdoor public space in Wuhan is 23.8 ℃ in summer and the upper limit of thermal comfort is 30.5℃.The study can provide reference to the thermal comfort design of outdoor public paces in hot summer and cold winter.
