Study on Landscape Micro-Climate Oriented Residential Senior Adaptive Landscape Perception Mechanism
The urban construction in China has been encountering new challenges under the background of rapid urbanization, climate change and aging of population since the 21st century. As the landscape plays a direct and important role in adjusting the micro-climate, a harmonious residential landscape micro-climate may positively affect the senior citizens physical and psychological perceptions of their daily life, thus promote their physical and psychological health. With the landscape micro-climate and senior citizens perception response mechanism as the foundation, the adjustment of the micro-climate oriented landscape planning design as the approach, the creation of the residential landscapes adapted to senior citizens wellbeing as the objective, this paper hereby proposes the design strategy for residential landscape as guidance for the micro-climate oriented residential senior adaptive landscape. The study in this paper is introduced with coverage of following aspects: 1.description of the basic principles of landscape micro-climate, analysis of diversified landscape elements which may affect the micro-climate, and extraction of several elements most senior citizens are sensitive to, such as sunshine, water, plant and open space, etc;2.investigation on senior citizens physical, psychological and behavior characteristics, and their demands for landscape micro-climate elements;3.accurate measurement, survey and quantification of various indexes between the landscape micro-climate and senior citizens perceptions in hot summer and cold winter climate zones. The main winter microclimate indexes include speed, humidity, temperature and radiation, the senior citizens perception indexes include their physical and psychological perceptions, activity address and frequency, etc. These indexes are set to seek the coupling relationship, perception and reaction mechanism among the senior citizens comfortable perception, place preference and the residential micro-climate.
