Study on the Layout Ventilation Design of the Qinghui Garden in Shunde based on Field Monitoring and ENVI-Met Simulation
As a means of passive ventilation, natural ventilation plays a significant role in saving energy, improving indoor and outdoor air quality as well as environmental comfort.By looking at the Lingnan Garden of traditional style, there is full of wisdom and impressive techniques in the garden construction, which allows the garden to adapt to the regional climate.This paper selects one of the four famous Lingnan traditional gardens-Shunde Qinghui Garden, as the study case of the ventilation design.This paper attempts to explore the ventilation organization strategy and design elements in garden layout, based on the field microclimate monitoring and computer ENVI-met simulation.Given the fact that the previous studies on the ventilation design of Lingnan Garden are mostly qualitative analysis, with very few quantitative monitoring and simulation analysis on the ventilation and micro-climate of Shunde Qinghui Garden, the research and the findings in this paper has served from innovative perspectives as follows.1) Base on the field microclimate monitoring and thermal comfort survey,there comes the proposed reference value of wind speed that provides a comfortable outdoor environment in Lingnan garden during summer.It can be further used for the quantitative analysis and evaluation of ventilation effect in summer in Lingnan Garden.2) The simulation via ENVI-met has summed up the ventilation elements and ventilation design strategy in the layout of Shunde Qinghui Garden to create a sound ventilation effect, which may provide reference for the design practice of contemporary Lingnan Garden.
