Research on complementarity and interconnection of large power grid based on large-scale hydropower development
More than 80% of Chinas hydropower resources are concentrated in the western region, and more than 80% of its power load is concentrated in the central and eastern regions.Influenced by the unbalanced distribution of energy resources and energy consumption, large-scale hydropower in Western China mainly relies on UHVDC point-to-point transmission to the central and eastern regions for absorption. In the future, with the further extension of hydropower development to remote areas and the continuous expansion of interconnected power grids, to study how to better play the interconnection role of large power grids and improve water efficiency is an urgent need.On the basis of introduction and analysis of the current situation of hydropower absorption in China, this paper studies and analyses the complementary characteristics between different power sources and different regions in China, draws lessons from the experience of clean energy absorption and interconnected power grid construction abroad, and puts forward the technical route of large-scale power grid joint complementarity adapted to the development of large-scale hydropower bases in the future.
