Strut-and-tie structural design research on spiral case of hydropower house
The spiral case is the core part of the hydropower house and turbine generator set.This paper studied a structural design method based on the strut-and-tie model (STM) for concrete structure of spiral case.First, a basic method was studied for the construction of STM for spiral case using topology optimization and stress trajectories method.Based on the established models, additional influencing factors for strut-and-tie models were investigated.The optimal constructing method for STM of spiral case was proposed and new design method for concrete structure of spiral case was presented which was based on the internal force envelope of strut-and-tie models.Finally, the results obtained from the traditional tensile stress graphics reinforcement method were compared to the presented design method which shows the efficiency and convenience of the method.This paper has further developed the structural design of spiral case of large hydropower station into the reinforcement method which is based on more accurate internal force model.
