Design of concrete gravity weir on sand gravel foundation in strong earthquake area

  Building concrete gravity weir on sand gravel foundation in strong earthquake area is rare.The gravity weir of Duber Khwar Hydropower Project in Pakistan is 48.5m high, the riverbed alluvial deposits is more than 80m thick.In the project design, considering the problems of leakage and seepage deformation, bearing capacity of foundation, uneven settlement, seismic liquefaction of sand layer, etc., some engineering measures such as grouting, enlarging the bottom width, local displacement, adjustment of the structure of weir body are taken, which have achieved a good effect.
