Research on the renewable energy development potential of BRI countries based on GIS digital platform
The Belt and Road Initiative has provided strong support for Chinas renewableenergy enterprises going-global strategy.Before hunting for the market, it is necessary to assess the renewable energy resource and analyze the development potential for the regions of the Belt and Road Initiative.To provide the reference for domestic investors, this paperanalyzed the idea and principles of the RE planning, and then established the renewable energy digital planning model based on the GIS digital platform, which includethe method for the extraction of digital drainage network, banded contour line, stage-storage relation curve,as well as the wind power density and solar radiation calculation.Based on the proposed model, the development potential of hydropower, wind power and photovoltaic power in the main countries of the Belt and Road Initiativewas carried out based onASTER GDEM data, GRDC global runoff data, wind resource data from AWS and solar radiation data from SolarGIS.
