Feasibility analysis of large energy storage plants based on cascade hydropower stations in the upper reaches of the Yellow River

  This paper proposes to build large energy storage plants based on the existing cascade hydropower stations in the upper reaches of the Yellow River to solve the problems of energy absorption, storage and stability brought about by the large-scale development of new energy from the perspective of Chinas energy development strategy.Two types of energy storage like pumped storage power station and pump station-hydropower station are used to form cascade energy storage plants.The feasibility of building large energy storage plants is analyzed on the basis of the water source, storage capacity,water head, and topographic and geological conditions and advantages for large energy storage plants in the section from Longyangxia to Liujiaxia.
