Lightning Surge Propagation in a Bare Buried Wire The Effect of Soil Ionization

　　This paper investigates the influence of soil ionization on the surge propagation in a buried bare wire.If the wire internal impedance can be neglected, it is shown that the propagation constant of the wire does not depend on the soil ionization.It is shown that this conclusion is in line with experimental results and results from numeric simulations available in the literature.
