Sinomylia P.-C.Wu, Y.Jia et M.-Z.Wang, a New Genus of Myliaceae in China, and its Systematic Relationship
Comparing with the genus Mylia, Sinomylia is proposed as a new genus characterized by stems with papillae and leaf cells with a single papilla or more than 10-12 irregularly obliquely cubic-like papillae. In addition, its perianth is long-cylindrical with many stylus-papillae and mixed with small papillae. The mouth of the perianth is narrow and erect, while the perianth of Mylia has a wide and frequently reflexed mouth, and its stems and perianth are smooth.
