Separating the High and Fundamental Mode Rayleigh Wave Based on 2D Digital Filter Method
Since the high mode surface wave may contaminate the fundamental mode wave in Rayleigh wave exploration, it is difficult for obtaining the high accuracy shear wave velocity and thickness of soft interlayer in the inversion of Rayleigh wave dispersion curve.It is essential for separating the high and fundamental wave and extracting the fundamental wave in Rayleigh wave prospecting.We simulated the multi-mode and fundamental mode Rayleigh wave in the soft interlayer structure.We then employed the 2D digital filter to separate them and analyzed the wave property and the filtered results.The study showed that the 2D digital filter is effective to suppress the high mode and improve the explanation of Rayleigh wave data and separate the fundamental mode and high mode, when the velocity shows an apparently differences between different modes Rayleigh wave.
