3D Multi-frequency CSEM Modelling Using Rational Krylov Method
We propose an algorithm of using rational Krylov method for efficient 3D multi-frequency CSEM modeling.We used the mimetic finite volume method to discretize the electromagnetic field governing equations in frequency domain.The solution can be expressed as a transfer function.We use the rational Krylov methods to approximate the transfer function over a frequency interval.Then EM response of arbitrary frequency within the interval can be obtained.The main feature of the method is that we use the optimal single repeated poles and direct solver,PARDISO, to construct the orthonormal vectors of the rational Krylov space.Only one factorization and several solutions of the coefficient matrix by PARDISO are needed to obtain the EM field at different frequencies.We verified the algorithm by applying to the typical 1D and 3D CSAMT and MCSEM models.
