A Two-dimensional Inversion of AEMT Data
Air electric field magnetotelluric (AEMT) is a new method by using capacitance and magnetic sensors to measure the distribution of electromagnetic field in the Air, which relate to underground geological structure. We use the EH-4 system to record the readings, where a pair of ground electrodes was replaced by a capacitive sensor to measure the orthogonal horizontal electric field in the air, and the alternating magnetic field is measured by a magnetic sensor. The results of the two-dimensional inversion of the measured data can effectively reflect the geological structure, demonstrating its feasibility in applications. The nonlinear conjugate gradient inversion method is proposedhere to invert the vertical electric field data measured by the capacitor in the future.
