Hybrid Filter for Ground Penetrating Radar Data Using Wavelet and Curvelet Transform

  To whiten noise and preserve the useful signal simultaneously, a new hybrid filter is developed for ground penetrating radar (GPR) data.This hybrid denoising scheme is combined with wavelet and curvelet transform.Based on unique features from single denoising scheme, the hybrid filter derivation for GPR data is presented.With a real field GPR data, the reconstructed results by single and hybrid denoising schemes are designed to demonstrate the accuracy and efficiency of the hybrid filter.The comparison with the single denoising method shows that the hybrid filter is capable of removing the random and coherent noises for complicated objects embedded in shallow medium.
